I’m in the middle of reading three books right now and am dying to finish all three post haste. I’ll write about these when I’m through. For now, here are my thoughts on The Code Book, by Simon Singh.

The Code Book was quite an easy read. As soon as I’d reached halfway through this book, I was a fan of Singh. He has the unique ability to take arcane concepts and simplify them to the point of easy understanding for a layman. Granted, my engineering background makes me no layman in terms of the technical details the book goes into. But even so, I feel that anyone with an interest in history and an appetite for reading will enjoy this book. The Code Book deals with the development of Cryptography and takes the reader on a journey that details how the various code schemes have developed over the course of time.

It’s definitely an enjoyable read and I highly recommend it. More on Singh’s other book, Fermat’s Enigma, later…
